Ambleside Gem was a perfect location. Visiting family who live in the town. Very warm and cosy. Bus station a minutes walk away so off to Kendal, also highly recommend Hawkshead and a fabulous walk to Jenkyns Grag. Oh and the cinema! Ambleside looked fabulous for Christmas, looking out from the balcony was extra special. Hope to be back in 2026. Thank you Craig and Trevor.

We had a lovely weekend in the cottage.  We didn't know it was a shared garden with the cottage next door but lucky for us it wasn't let. The drive there is off road through a couple of fields.

We had a lovely time here and were surprised by how peaceful it was, when so close to Ambleside. Cosy, spotlessly clean and comfy (just a bit dark when we arrived so hard to find key safe, also sister followed the earlier fork in the road and arrived at the back door, which would have been very confusing if she was first there, so directions might need clarifying)  We will definitely book this place again, it was a lovely home from home, perfect whether it was cold and raining or sunny and bright (we had both!) Many thanks Alex for quick response to questions.

my partner and i had a lovely stay here just before the christmas rush. perfect location, close to the ferry, so much place filled with lots of amenities. we were thrilled when we saw the christmas decorations which made the place feel cosy in the evenings.  we will definitely be back next :)

Gorgeous place really well done. Loved the log fire. Feels really remote but is very close to Kendal. The final road on the approach to the property is single track with very few passing places - be prepared to reverse a good distance if you do manage to come across someone coming the other way (very quiet area so hopefully not a problem!)

Located in the heart of Ambleside the apartment is lovely, with three king sized beds each with their own ensuites. Clean and modern with great views over the town. A great find that we will return to. A few steps up to the apartment and unloading / parking a little more challenging as central but worth the extra 10mins.

This is the second time we styaed in this beautiful Flat and we will never stay anywhere else again. The location is ideal in the middle of ambleside with plenty of walks (And pubs!) right on your door step. The Smart lcoaks and ALexa check in are perfect and super easy to use and elimnate the taks of carriyng and worrying about keys. The balcony  is so special and i could have eaily spent half my trip on there ( If it wasnt for the weather). Overall the whole apartment is incredible, the kitchen facilites, the comfiest bed i have stayed on in a holiday rental and the samrt TV. We will 100000% Percent be back next year :)

The apartment was amazing, really spacious and modern. It was equipped with everything you could need for a short stay. it's located just in the city center with close proximity to the supermarkets, cafes and stores. The only minor problem was that the parking space, that was offered, was too far away from the unit but for us it wasn't a big deal, we managed to park closer for a couple of pounds.

We had a great time and were very comfortable for the two nights we stayed.  The kitchen and dining area was fully equipped and had everything we needed.  The bathrooms were lovely and updated and the linens were of high quality.  The location was right in the middle of everything but also very quiet and peaceful at night.  We would happily stay again and highly recommend this place to anyone.  It was great!

Such a lovely week in grasmere. Not bothered about the gates to get there, only makes the experience more secluded and fun. Really great space, everything you need. Kitchen well equipped and views were great. Thanks for having us and the dog :)

This is a fabulous place to stay in Ambleside. It is very close to the centre and the parking space means you don't need to worry about getting into town. The property is very modern and clean and I felt very safe there. The instructions for getting there, getting in, finding things and how things work were very good. We were here in December and it was lovely and warm Great kitchen with plenty of space to prepare and store food with top quality appliances. I felt very at home here and will definitely stay here again

Extremely nice place in a peaceful part of the lakes. Nice and cosy living space for those rainy days. Easy access to good walking from the doorstep and close to Coniston for more adventurous hiking. The property is very well furnished and spacious for one or two  people. I strongly recommend this place. I hope to be back soon!

Absolutely fantastic four nights away! Perfect location - secluded, beautiful, incredible scenery but then a 20 minute walk to lovely village of Grasmere where we could finish up in the pub after a dog walk. We loved the house and it had everything we needed, also open-plan which suited the dogs so they felt immediately at home. Will be looking to book back in for next year to explore more of the Lake District and Cumbria! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

This was the loveliest stay, the flat was spacious, so clean and had everything you needed, the added touches of all the games, maps and decor made it feel so homely. Having two huge bathrooms with two showers and a bath felt like luxury! The location was perfect and quick walk down a little steep hill and you were in the centre of Ambleside. This was our second stay at this AirBnb, the first time being a few years ago. The flat is perfectly located for the town, and easy to get in and out of by car. The bathroom is good and very clean, with a spotless shower. The kitchen is well-equipped, we mostly bring our own food and can always find the right equipment to cook various things. Would definitely recommend.

Great little apartment on the top floor with cracking views of Ambleside and the mountains beyond. We got lucky with the winter weather and watched the sun hit Fairfield summit from the kitchen every morning. Really well kitted out, kitchen has everything you might need for self catering unlike a lot of places (only thing missing was pint glasses!) and has a dishwasher, washer/dryer. Really well heated and has a hot powerful shower. Location is great, very central to Ambleside, close to pubs, restaurants, shops, mountain walks and other activities. Very detailed instructions and guide provided by hosts and an automated check in process. Would definitely stay here again

Just what I needed! Be sure to feel on top of the world at ‘Top of the Bank’. With spectacular views, and comfort at it’s best, you’ll wish you had stayed longer! In the heart of majestic Ambleside, you’ll find all amenities right on your doorstep, including a Cinema, Jaaz lounge, and Michelin star restaurant for those who enjoy fine dining! With allocated parking, you can set off at sun rise and return after sunset knowing your parking spot will always be available. Upon returning, from your day of exploring, you’ll be welcomed back to the comfort of your home away from home, with it’s lovely, soothing, and relaxing ambience. Now that’s what I call true bliss!!

Top of the Bank is a lovely apartment with stunning views. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need.  It's right in the middle of Ambleside so really easy for access to shops, restaurants and pubs. There's a bus stop opposite and lots of walks nearby.  We would definitely stay there again.

Flat was in a fantastic location and the views were excellent with it being on the 3rd floor. The shower could do with a bit of a deep clean, it was ok but not spotless. The rest of the flat was clean and tidy as expected and the bed was really comfortable. Car parking space is very tight and reliant on others parking well to enable us to fit in the designated space (we were in an average size hatchback car). It would be a real struggle with a larger vehicle such as an estate car. Hosts were responsive all the way through the process as and when we needed them. Price was great for such a central location in Ambleside.

Ambleside is an interesting trade off as a destination. It’s beautiful in itself and convenient to walk or hop on a bus to a dozen other beautiful places. There are fun pubs, decent restaurants, good groceries, even a local cinema chain screening absurd numbers of movies for such a small village. All this quality comes with serious crowding - be ready for that. Once you’re sold on Ambleside, Top of the Bank is a comfortable, functional spot to stay. We had a great time. Anyone considering it should be aware that it is a top floor walk up. You’re probably in the lakes to walk the fells anyway, so what’s a few flights of stairs? But if that doesn’t sound good, that’s the only reason to set your sights lower, in an unusually literal sense.

Good clean apartment. Well appointed kitchen with good supply of pots and pans and cooking utensils. Central position made everything walkable. Be aware of the 3 flights of stairs from car to the door if you find stairs difficult.

Good location,  lots of food nearby and a short drive to popular walks. Would stay for longer. Was clean and bigger than the pictures. The parking space is between two other spaces so can get a big tight.
